“Staff members at a Missouri cemetery were not alarmed when they noticed a shadow moving through the graveyard one night. They’d recently had an influx of visitors, the majority of whom walked on four legs.
They confirmed their visitor was a small, stray puppy after getting a better look the next day. They called Stray Rescue of St. Louis (SRSL) because he was missing most of his hair and his feet were too sore to walk on.”

“According to Donna Lochmann, chief life saving officer at SRSL, many stray puppies make their way into the cemetery.

“They simply get under the fence and decide they like it because it’s quiet,” Lochmann explained. “Because it’s a large cemetery, they have plenty of space to get away from people.”

But because every stray dog deserves proper shelter, Lochmann and the cemetery staff immediately devised a rescue plan. They spread out and searched the cemetery for the puppy.

After a while of searching, one of the members of the search team heard a noise coming from a bush and discovered the puppy curled up underneath it.
